A new Russian tanker flying the flag of the Bahamas and carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG), the 'Rudolf Samoylovich,' has docked at the Montoir-de-Bretagne LNG terminal in the port of Nantes-Saint Nazaire in western France. Last Saturday, another Russian LNG carrier, the 'Boris Vilkitsky,' moored in the same place. Even as it has adopted an unprecedented package of sanctions, Europe continues to finance Russia through its energy purchases, which it is unable to do without in the very short term.
