I have printed out my Sweet Pea instructions for the Sweet Pea in the hoop mug rug so I know how to stitch the mug rug, step by step. You will need a cutting mat (mine is from cricut) and I put it on top of my DIME hoop mat) remember that the DIME hoop mat is not a cutting surface! some pretty fabric, batting, embroidery machine (lol) and of course your Sweet Pea rulers!

The first step is to decided what size hoop you are going to use for the in the hoop ITH mug rug. Once you decide that, you can pick the corresponding ruler. You can fussy cut your fabric and fold the fabric so you can cut out more than one applique piece at a time. You can do the same for the quilt batting as well.

Place your rulers on the fabric, line everything up and use your rotary cutter to trim the fabric and batting to the perfect size for the 4x4 hoop! There will be a perfect amount of seam allowance to complete the embroidery project.

Remember that time is money, and anything that really saves me time is worth the money. I know that these sweet pea rulers will save me embroidery preparation time in every machine embroidery project that I am working on. These rulers will also save me fabric and batting.
