The first luxury resort in Bhutan was Amankora. There are five lodges across its central and western valleys of Bhutan. We stayed in four. Amankora has been a part of this legendary Buddhist Kingdom around 20 years.
The sole surviving Himalayan Buddhist Kingdom is Bhutan. It is one of the most beautiful, remote and pristine environments on earth and "undiscovered" in many ways. To best experience all that Bhutan has to offer, Amankora creates travel journeys that include a combination of its lodges located in the valleys of Paro, Thimphu, Punakha, Gangtey and Bumthang. We stayed in all except Bumthang.
