Ekitiibwa kya Buganda (Buganda’s Pride) is the national anthem of the Kingdom of Buganda, an officially recognised Kingdom within the Republic of Uganda. The anthem was written in the Luganda language by Reverend Polycarp Kakooza in 1939. The anthem was banned when the Buganda monarchy was overthrown by the Ugandan government of Milton Obote in 1967, but was brought back into use upon the restoration of the monarchy in 1993. The full anthem is usually only sung in the presence of the Kabaka (King) of Buganda. Otherwise only the first and fourth verses are sung, alongside the chorus.
