Update Vid for 2016 Holden Colorado LTZ - Repairable Write-Off

This is the 1st update for the 2016 Holden Colorado LTZ 2.8L Turbo Diesel 4x4 - Repairable Write-Off Project.

I picked up this UTE from the salvage auction. I was going to just sell it as is. but now i have decided to fix it up and get it back on the road.

In this video, I take a look at my 2016 Holden Colorado LTZ that I purchased as a repairable write-off. The damage was mainly to the front right side but the upper control arm (wishbone) had snapped from the impact. I’ve since replaced that part, and the ute now drives perfectly straight. The engine and auto box are both in great condition.

It still needs a front right guard and bumper, which I’ll probably source second-hand and have resprayed to save money. Once that’s done, it’ll be ready for the inspection process and registration.

Here in Western Australia, the process involves a fair bit of paperwork, the original bill of sale, own WA ID, invoices with VIN numbers for any used parts fitted, a WA stat dec for work I’ve done myself, and photos showing before, during, and after the repairs. The repairs must be to a satisfactory standard before it can go through the first WOVR inspection pit.

After that, it heads to the Department of Transport for the final inspection. Once both inspections are passed, it’s then to the DOT to register the vehicle and get new plates.

It’s a bit of a process and takes some money and patience, but bringing a damaged vehicle back to life is always satisfying.
