11305 Horwich Works Shunter - 3P20 Photo Charter

A 3P20 Parcels Group photographic charter was held at Baron Street Loco Works on the East Lancashire Railway on Friday 1st March 2024. The afternoon and evening photo charter focused on L&YR Saddletank 752 running as former Horwich Works Shunter 11305.

11305 was the favourite Horwich shunter of the late Harvey Scowcroft, who passed away at the end of 2023. He had sponsored the paintwork for 752 when it returned to steam and it was his desire for 752 to appear as 11305 at some point. Whilst this sadly did not happen during his lifetime it is fitting that this evening was run to commemorate him.

The event featured the L&Y Tank shunting a LMS Crab boiler on a Saltink bogie well wagon and the bottom end of under overhaul Jinty 47324.

Run pasts were also performer at the bottom of the yard with the loco on some vans, the weather played ball and we were treated to some lovely winter glint shots.

LMS Jinty 47298 was in use on steam Footplate Experience & Dining Train duties on the ELR that evening and joined in proceeds while it from back onshed for a refresh between duties.
