Mario Lemieux explodes for FIVE goals as the Penguins rout the Blues by a score of 8-4.
Lemieux also adds two assists for a seven-point night, while Pittsburgh teammates Petr Nedved (1G, 2A) and Ron Francis (3A) add three points each. Stephane Matteau, Rob Pearson and Chris Pronger each tally a goal and an assist for St. Louis.
Ken Wregget makes 27 saves to get the win in the Pittsburgh crease, while Grant Fuhr gets his 74th consecutive start in net for the Blues, and is replaced by Jon Casey after the second Penguins goal halfway through the first period.
There are two fights in the game: Pittsburgh's Dave Roche squares off with Rob Pearson of St. Louis in the first period, while Blues enforcer Tony Twist tussles with Francois Leroux of the Penguins in the second period.
