Tiny slab of land off Route 44 in Chepatchet, Rhode Island, alongside a small plaza. Also known as Rhode Island Historic Cemetery Glocester #33, the grounds are in need of upkeep. Many headstones are turned over, or in need of cleaning as I couldn't make out a lot of the lettering. This footage is over two year olds before the posting of this video, so hopefully more attention has been made towards preserving the interred since then.
Among the most interesting notes: so many women named Abigail. While it is definitely one of the top three or four names I've encountered for women at various cemeteries of the 17th and 18th centuries, the high percentage of that name at this small cemetery is remarkable.
A Revolutionary War soldier is interred here. He is a Winsor as are many buried here. Abigail Winsor's grave is prominent--she is the wife of Deacon Joshua Winsor, for whom this small graveyard is named. I didn't know that at the time that I explored this graveyard, so I didn't specifically look for the deacon's headstone, and as a result, I did not record it. It doesn't appear that it was obviously near his wife's grave, so maybe it has deteriorated to the point of being unrecognizable. Or maybe I just missed it.
Interesting first names encountered here include Freelove and Welcome, and the most prominent name is a descendant of Roger Williams, one of Rhode Island's most significant historical figures.
