Hello. I am Hiroshi, First Lieutenant K, a Japanese army (Japan Ground Self-Defense Force) officer in reserve. I am also a physician.
When I was a senior at the National Defense Academy of Japan (in 1989), I devised a method of making origami CH-47s from rectangles, but it was very complicated and I ended up making only a few of them.
Recently, I have developed a relatively simple method of making them from squares, which I present here. I still need to improve the details, but I am proud to say that the turboshaft engines on both sides of the rear of the fuselage, which were not present in the previous model, are well represented.
The structure is simple despite its complex appearance, so if you have access to suitable paper, please give it a try.
