⚛️ Mole Day ⚛️
Ever wonder what one mole of water looks like?!? Just pour yourself 18 millimeters if it!
The mole is such a unique & crucial unit in Chemistry that it is celebrated each year on 10/23 from 6:02am to 6:02pm!
Chemistry is the study of all matter and the changes it undergoes. But we are talking about matter at the molecular, atomic, or sometimes even subatomic level. This means we need to have the ability to count particles so tiny that not even the human eye can see. Enter Avogadro’s number.
Where one mole of an entity equals 6.02x10^23 of those individual entities. This allows to count these individual particles and relate it to quantities such as mass (grams), density, energy, or even moles of a completely different substance.
The mole helps make the understanding of matter possible!
What is you favorite fun fact about the mole unit?!?
