In the Greater Noida dowry murder case, the accused husband, Vipin Bhatti, has been shot by police in an encounter. According to police, the accused attempted to snatch an officer's pistol and flee while being taken to recover evidence, prompting police to fire. The 28-year-old victim, Nikki, was allegedly tortured and set on fire by her husband and in-laws over dowry after nine years of marriage, and subsequently died from severe burns.
