Commander Kevin Tedesco recently spoke with Thom about his candidacy for Sheriff in 2026, sharing the unique passion and virtues he believes set Teller County apart. As a combat veteran of the United States Army who served during Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2003 to 2004, Kevin brings a wealth of experience and dedication to public service. After his military service, Kevin began his law enforcement career and has since worked in and supervised a variety of positions. His extensive background includes roles in detentions operations, detectives, patrol, traffic enforcement, DUI enforcement, police motorcycle units, and special operations.
Since joining the Teller County Sheriff’s Office in 2017, Kevin has demonstrated a strong commitment to serving both residents and visitors as the agency’s Detentions Commander. He emphasizes that his broad experience across multiple facets of law enforcement provides him with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges facing Teller County. Through his campaign for Sheriff in 2026, Kevin aims to continue building trust within the community while upholding the values that are important to Teller County’s citizens.
