After Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden, they began their journey in mortality on this Earth. In accordance with the commandment of Father to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the Earth, the began to have children and raise a family in righteousness. In order to provide for and protect his new family, if was necessary for Adam, also known as the Ancient of Days, to have power over the adversary and the opposition which would be brought into the world. This power, of course, was the Priesthood, which was in the beginning, and shall be in the end of the world also.
