Directed by Marc Webb, the film follows teenager Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), who gains superhuman abilities after being bitten by a genetically altered spider. As he investigates his parents’ mysterious past, Peter falls in love with Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) and confronts Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard (Rhys Ifans), whose dangerous experiments threaten New York City.
