Sorry for the grainy footage for some reason putting it through the editor makes the filmed parts a bit pixley? Anyway a thread on the Isle Of Wight Heritage page and Isle of Wight Railway page on facebook , prompted a session in the history books and a visit..The subject ..a siding built by the Isle of Wight Railway on Apse Bank for a stone Quarry. Built in 1868 it was not permitted the use of locomtive to operate upon, had a set of points at the end and two spurs. This siding was removed circa 1900. There were no visable or map related features as you would expect with earthworks for a railway, so a visit was in order.
