Despite facing disbelief from law enforcement and enduring unimaginable trauma, Kendra refused to let her past define her. Her captor was eventually convicted and sentenced to prison—but Kendra’s real victory was reclaiming her power.

Today, she’s the founder of Liberation Team, a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and supporting victims of exploitation, and the owner of Avert ’Em, a self-defense and firearms training company that teaches women how to protect themselves. She also appeared on the hit reality series 60 Days In, where she brought her experience and strength to a national audience.

Through raw honesty and fearless reflection, Kendra shares how she rebuilt her life from the ground up, turning trauma into triumph and pain into purpose.
