A firm in Jersey are the first non-military owners of the recently invented hovercraft - their intention is to use it for inter-island travel.

The 'Cushion Craft' carries eleven passengers at fifty miles per hour. Hovercraft production was originally encouraged by a firm who wanted to transport bananas gently.
