WHAT’S THE PRICE OF FORGETTING THAT “FEEDBACK IS THE BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS”?

Recent studies have consistently shown that “feedback is one of the most powerful influences on learning and achievement” (Hattie & Timperley, 2007, p. 81; Wisniewski et al., 2020) in educational settings, but developing pre-service teachers’ “feedback literacy” (Sutton, 2012, p. 31) is rarely among the main goals of teacher training programs. In this video, “What’s the price of forgetting that “feedback is the breakfast of champions”?: A closer look at teacher and student feedback literacy development”, Prof. Dr. Çiler Hatipoğlu presents and defines the main elements forming teacher and student feedback literacies and discusses how they can be developed so that foreign language teaching is done more successfully in contemporary educational contexts.
