In this video I’m going to show you how to make tropical pop with Ableton Live. We’re going to sound design a whistle flute instrument in Sampler. Then we’ll talk about making pop chord progressions with a pluck sound. After that I’ll show you the rhythm patterns to use when drum programming. We’ll talk about hihat and shaker swing. I’ll show you how to make Jack U fills with timbales. We’re going to take a look at the layering of drums, hihats, snaps and claps. We’ll take a look at the structure of marimba plucks and chord progressions. Other things I’ll show you include gated reverb, making ambient synth presets with Xfer Serum, using automations, mixing leads, different kinds of reverb return tracks and mastering tropical pop with Multiband Dynamics.
