Sony a7R4 Image Quality Test, Comparison, Review, Pixel Peeping, Dynamic Range vs Canon 5DsR, GFX100

In this video I pixel peep the hell out of the Sony A7R IV against Canon’s current highest megapixel camera, the EOS 5DsR. I recommend viewing at 4K on a desktop.

I don't normally compare pixels like this, only once every time I buy a new camera body to compare against what I upgraded from. These are not scientific lab tests but based on how I might use the cameras on set with cars.

When recording I hardly noticed any real difference between the Sony A7RIV and the Canon 5DsR, but after re-watching the video from further away on a smaller screen. I think there is a more noticeable subtle difference than what I thought of before. Rather than looking at individual pixels, it's more noticeable looking at the close ups overall. The texture is more real, and the shadows looks less digital.

To date in 2020, the EOS R5 has arguably the best image quality from Canon. But the ageing Canon EOS 5DsR is still the highest megapixel camera you can currently buy from them. According to canonrumors.com, there is an EOS R5s 90 megapixel prototype in the wild:
