In this video, I reveal what the law actually says and give you a FREE complaint letter to protect your privacy and your rights.
DWP are demanding people’s bank statements — even what you spend your money on. But here’s the truth:
Under the Universal Credit Regulations 2013 (Regulation 111), the DWP can only ask for information and evidence relevant to your entitlement.
That means they can check income, capital, and household composition — but they cannot lawfully demand full, unredacted spending histories that show where you shop, donate, or buy personal items.
Universal Credit is assessed month by month, so any review should normally cover only one assessment period, not months or years of private transactions.
If they’ve demanded more, or suspended your claim for not handing over private data, you can challenge it.
I’m giving it away completely free — as a thank you for helping my videos go viral.
