Winery tours with Alannah, Allan and Jerry, plus myself. Lots of mental notes taken and will recap with a Blog Post to my website when I’m back in Canada the best I can. A side note to mention is the Argentina wines have a lot of interesting differences based on the altitudes, mineralogy in the soils and distances from the mountains itself. Out first stop this morning was at Lagarde which was founded in 1897. A large winery produced many wines as your standard table wines. The ownership changed hands in 1970 and currently run by two sisters. One lives in the area and the second lives in the USA. The focus was changed from quantity to quantity of the wine making.

A walking tour around the vineyard.The wine tasting itself was amazing from the initial greeting of a fresh light tasting rose to setup of the table itself with the presentation to the five wines and pairing.

With recommendation from the hosts we traveled a short distance to another winery called Alta Vista. An interesting side note, all winery access is by reservation only and everyone must check in via security and gated access.

This winery too was wonderful in its own way. We were able to wander the vineyards and take in the beautiful backdrop of the mountains.

Many wines were sampled as well as two large curcutoer boards

Back to accommodations for a short rest rhebout to Don Mario for a steak dinner. Highly rated restaurant and for good reason. Best steak I’ve have in a long time.
