Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel (1805-1847) was the sister of Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847) and is considered one of the most prolific female composers of the 19th century. This piece entitled, "Morgenwanderung" [Morning Hike] encapsulates the beautiful flowers and curious creatures of a forest emerging at daybreak.
