Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth - Bonds of Friendship (Cloud & Zack Legendary Bout VR Combat Challenge) on Hard difficulty. These Brutal and Legendary VR challenges are unlocked after you defeat Gilgamesh and the Protorelic Phenomena quest line. Beating all of these challenges will unlock the Virtually Renowned trophy, as well as complete an achievement and unlock a key item treasure for Johnny, to unlock the 7-Star Hotel trophy.

The final two fights between Bahamut Arisen and Odin aren't as clean as I would like, but as you can see it takes 20 minutes to even get to them, so I said good enough for now, and I'll redo this challenge when I get the PS5 Pro.

This is a very difficult challenge and there are multiple times where your run can be put into critical state of potential failure: getting hit with Earth Tremor from Alexander, Graviga from Ironclad, stunned from Hueyacoatl or Kujata, and that's not even the final two strongest summons in Round 9 & 10. I recommend that you train for this by fighting Bahamut Arisen and Odin with Cloud and a partner on Full Might, and make sure you have your gameplan ready. You don't want to get to Round 9 and have to figure things out. Also do the VR tutorial for Zack.

Cloud is outfitted for maximum magic damage build (Rune Blade with Full-Power Magic), with Genji Gloves to break the 9999 damage limit. You will always want Prime Mode activated to get the damage boost from the Berserk (activate the highest level; with the eyes, not just the mouth), and also Sonic Boom for granting Bravery and Faith. This is important to stack everything, because it can mean the difference between a few thousand points in damage.

R1: Titan - he likes to do his Thwack attack directly after Sling. Other than that, he's pretty easy and can be beaten on the first Stagger, well before his Ultimate. You should beat him before he does Earthen Aegis again.

R2: Hueyacoatl - when it's SuperCharged, you can't attack freely or you will get hit with lightning and stunned. This enemy can do a lot of damage quickly, but it's very predictable.

R3: Phoenix - Elemental with Fire set to armor should protect Cloud from Phoenix, but Zack could use Regen. You should be able to finish it before it does Rebirth Flame.

R4: Brineborn Demon - very fast enemy that should be Stopped immediately. Get Fira on it fast to pressure it, and then it will begin throwing magic. When it has Demonic Defense up, throw projectile to force it to cast Fire and get healed. When it does Voltaic Storm, you need to hit it with Fire immediately.

R5: Kujata - this fight can be bad if Kujata gets the Lightning element in the first round. The key is to hit it's elemental weakness and remove both of them quickly; if you don't, then the next round Kujata will likely activate Tri-Disaster.

R6: Ironclad - pretty easy fight (very predictable), but still lots of risk, and you have to watch out for Graviga. Just be ready to heal; ideally after the Synergy Ability which gives Zack unlimited MP.

R7: Alexander - this summon is deceptively dangerous. Sweep can take a huge chunk of your life. Earth Tremor can hit you while in mid-air. Take both arms out at around the same time.

R8: Mindflayer - easy fight as long as Zack gets his ATB charges ready to activate the Synergy Ability. Zack cannot die here or else it will be very difficult to defeat Mindflayer without staggering it. (my equipment does not have revive materia to bring him back)

R9: Bahamut Arisen - you need to practice the timing to block his Crush Grip. Synergy Skills to pressure Bahamut, but you can also destroy both it's Wings while it's Charging. This is the only fight where I used Manawall because of Bahamut's lethality.

R10: Odin - getting hit with the pink aura attacks can really cripple you (e.g. Helmcleaver). Once Odin is under 50% health, it will do Temporal Imprisonment on your current character. There's a good chance he can kill this character though, so stay healed up.
