FULL DSICOLSURE. A LOT HAPPENS IN THIS VIDEO.
I did not intend this to be a walkthrough video. You need some basic understanding of cars to really follow this video.
In this video I walk through removing the radiator on a Volvo XC60 (2010–2015). I originally pulled the radiator because I thought the anti-tamper coolant level sensor had failed… and in the process, I accidentally poked a hole in the old radiator. So I replaced it with a brand-new Volvo OEM unit — but the check-engine light stayed on.
After a trip to the dealer (where they blamed the brand-new radiator), I ended up deciding to pull the radiator again. Since I couldn’t find any clear videos showing this exact removal process on this generation XC60, I filmed it to help the next person who has to do it.
This video covers removal only. Not intended to be a step-by-step.
I have since gotten the new radiator, and tested the voltage on the LIN line, which seems to prove that the CEM is acting up. Nothing else makes sense but the CEM needs a reflash. So this removal was pretty much for nothing. I'm pretty sure it isn't the sensor's fault. But now you get this video out of it.
If this helps you out, drop a comment or a like, it'll make this removal worth something — and good luck on your XC60 project.
Sorry this isn't a super polished video, I did not want to spend more time than was worth on it.
