Today I’m exploring São Paulo — a city of 22 million people, endless skyscrapers, and a heartbeat that never slows down. My first stop: Batman Alley, the iconic open-air gallery that represents the soul of São Paulo’s graffiti culture. Every wall here is alive with colour, storytelling, political messages, and the creativity of Brazil’s best street artists. The surrounding neighbourhoods are just as vibrant, full of cafés, small shops, and that chilled, artsy vibe that makes this area one of the city’s cultural hotspots.
From there, I headed to Avenida Paulista, the biggest and busiest avenue in São Paulo. This is the city’s financial and cultural backbone — a place where business towers, museums, street performers, and thousands of people all collide. Walking down Paulista feels like walking through the true engine of Brazil’s largest city.
São Paulo became the giant it is today for a reason. During the coffee boom, millions migrated here for work and opportunity. Its strategic location — close to Brazil’s busiest port, Santos — made it the perfect place for trade, industry, and rapid growth. That boom shaped the modern São Paulo we see now: diverse, massive, and constantly evolving.
Join me as I explore what makes this city one of the most powerful and fascinating places in the world.
