Abstract
In this talk, we will delve into the transformative potential of wearable technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) in revolutionising healthcare. With the advent of smart wearables, point-of-care diagnostics, health data analytics and AI algorithms, we are witnessing a paradigm shift in how we monitor, diagnose, and treat health conditions. We will cover several innovative wearable health technologies and health metaverse that we have developed through an interdisciplinary collaboration among engineers, scientists, clinicians, industrial partners and entrepreneurs. As we enter into the era of precision medicine, our smart health technologies and AI will contribute towards the future of health diagnostics and monitoring, that will not only be about early diagnosis but also precise therapy.
Short Biography
Professor Chwee Teck Lim is the NUSS Chair Professor and Director of the Institute for Health Innovation and Technology at the National University of Singapore. He is also the Founding Director of the Singapore Health Technologies Consortium, a national initiative advancing health technology innovation. Prof Lim is globally recognised for his research on understanding the mechanics behind human diseases and pioneering novel medical technologies to transform healthcare. His prolific academic journey includes over 500 published journal articles and over 550 plenary/keynote/invited talks. A serial entrepreneur, he co-founded six startups with one achieving successful IPO in 2018. Prof Lim is globally recognized for his distinguished achievements by the over 100 research awards and honors including the Nature Lifetime Achievement Award for Mentoring in Science, Vladimir K.Zworykin Award, Highly Cited Researcher, Asia’s Most Influential Scientist Award, ASEAN Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award, Asian Scientists 100, Wall Street Journal Asian Innovation Award and the President's Technology Award. He is also an Elected Fellow of nine academies including the Royal Society (UK), National Academy of Inventors (US), IUPESM, IAMBE, AIMBE, ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology, Singapore National Academy of Science, Academy of Engineering, Singapore and Institution of Engineers, Singapore.
