On Thursday, December 24, 1959, Garuda Indonesian Airways Flight 330, operated by a Douglas C-47A-25 registered Papa Kilo - Golf Delta Victor (PK-GDV), departed Talang Betutu Airport, Palembang for Pangkal Pinang with notably 4 crew members; which consists the captain, co-pilot, radio operator and stewardess. While approaching Talang Betetu Airport for an emergency landing, the aircraft crashed into a swamp 5 km (3.1 miles) from the runway thresold, killing one pilot.

*although some sources argued that it was destined for Jakarta, there isn't any solid evidence that it was the intended destination.
