DIY Louise Carmen-inspired traveler’s journal! (free self-drafted pattern, beginner friendly!)

If you want to start journaling, record your travels, or just want a cute leather wrap for a book you’re reading, you’ve come to the right place!

This Louise-Carmen-inspired traveler’s journal most closely matches their Honoré (M) size, which can fit an A5 journal fairly comfortably! A halved letter (8.5x11 inch) size notebook will also work well with this size.

You will need:
paper to draft a pattern
leather - 4mm thick (I got my leather from: https://springfieldleather.com/collec...)
a pen or pencil
ruler (ideally cork-backed)
x-acto knife
self-healing mat
waxed thread and 2 thick needles
wooden awl and/or multi-prong leather hole puncher
mallet (for punching holes through the leather)
sandpaper
leather hand burnisher
water (for burnishing)
wax (for burnishing)
