Which Device Is Best for Photoshop at Home?

📝 Lesson Notes:

1. Set your screen to sRGB or Standard mode: This is the best setting for making colors look right! You can usually change this on monitors that are separate from the computer by going into the monitor's settings. Some laptops also let you change this setting, so check if yours does.

2. Set your screen brightness and contrast to the same level: Always start with both brightness and contrast at 50%. If you want the screen to be brighter, make sure both levels are equal. If the screen doesn’t look right, go back to 50%. On laptops, you can usually only change brightness. In that case, it’s best to set brightness to 100% if you care about color accuracy, especially when finishing a project.

3. A fairly new laptop is a great choice for learning the full version of Photoshop, as it can handle the software. For better control, try using an external mouse—it makes it easier to move around.

4. Not everyone can have a desktop computer, but a laptop will work just fine for most tasks on Photoshop!
