What to Expect 🔍


In my view, Boney, the amiable Mud Mephit, along with his wife Stoney - who is, in fact, an Elemental - remain some of the most memorable NPCs in Baldur's Gate 3. This is particularly true for players who choose to accept Stoney's proposal to create a statue for 5000 gold. The statue will be automatically placed in your camp and grants the unique bonus of the Sweet Stone Features condition.

Just a few days ago, one of my subscribers inquired whether making the deal with Stoney is worthwhile. Therefore, I've decided to create a brief video addressing this question and also displaying the statues of each character for those who haven't had the chance to see them yet.

So ... In response to the question, I believe the answer is a resounding YES; you should absolutely invest in a statue for your camp. While you can't retrieve your 5000 gold from Boney through pickpocketing, if you have sufficient gold at this stage, placing a statue in your camp can be very beneficial. The previously mentioned Sweet Stone Features condition grants a permanent +1d4 bonus buff to attack rolls and saving throws for the character the statue represents, which can be really useful during the game's final act.

Needless to say, talking to Boney with a different character will purchase a statue in their likeness, and you even have the option to have the statue adorned in your armor, your camp gear, or, as you can see with my statues, even in the nude.
