The City of Cape Town is ruthlessly targeting a specific brown community at Aboriginal Khoi-San Kraal of Strandfontein, mobilizing immense resources—including massive legal fees, law enforcement, and private security—to prevent them from developing land or putting up shacks.

Residents, some of whom have been on the housing waiting list for 22 years, are systematically denied basic rights. The City refuses electricity or lights and repeatedly breaks down essential toilet structures, ignoring overflowing septic drains.

Meanwhile, properties and coastal land are sold off to "outsiders" (buite mense). Residents feel they are completely abandoned by the government.

Though the community won an interim order in the High Court in 2022, the City appealed and succeeded, leaving families, including children attending local schools, under threat of eviction.

A devastating allegation is leveled: "the city, the high court, the government they are all together" (almal is saam). They ignore the suffering and consciously aim to disrupt these families, prioritizing control over providing basic housing. WAKE US UP!
