In May 2017, the Monson family received devastating news: Katie, a freshman at UCLA, had a golf ball-sized brain tumor. At just 18 years old, she faced surgery, chemo, and radiation with incredible strength.
During the last year of her life, she launched the KM (Kindness Matters) Legacy Foundation to raise awareness and fund brain tumor research.
