Digo/Duruma Muungano Group of Kwale County (kichaka Simba - Shimba Hills) performing the Mdundiko Dance and singing the digo folk songs. The Mdundiko Dance is usually used in communal celebrations like weddings (harusi dance) burial ceremonies (matanga dance) and community gatherings to entertain the guests and crowds.
The Digo/Duruma Community of the Mijikenda are renowned cultural dance experts. The dance attire and Mdundiko drum set and the essential music instruments like Buru (pipe and calabash) and kivoti (flute) portray the Mijikenda culture of Coastal Kenya.
