Unable to board the Daimler CWA6 (GLX913) at Bluewater, I waited for the next X55 to Lakeside instead. The bus was T986, a Workington-built Titan B15 delivered in April 1984. Its 5-speed Hydracyclic gearbox was put in automatic mode, so it starts in 2nd and shifts sequentially between 2nd and 5th. It seemed to me that the throttle-dip was not working, as the engine speed shot up briefly (i.e. the gearbox slipped a lot) during upshifts when throttle was widely open. That aside, the performance of the bus was still quite good.
