The need for community legal centres to be smart and effective communicators has never been greater. Not only do we need to promote our services, provide legal support and advocate on important issues – but we need to do it with less funding than ever before.
Some organisations fall into the trap of thinking more is better. They get caught up in tactics and ‘busy work’ rather than focusing on strategy and measurable outcomes. This session will answer the fundamental questions that form the foundations of a planned approach to communications:
How can communications advance your strategic goals?
Who are your stakeholders? Do you really understand them?
What tools and tactics will be effective in reaching and engaging them?
What messages do you need to deliver? What channels and formats will work?
What risks exist? What resources do you need? Who is responsible?
How do you operationalise this in a practical way and monitor progress?
This webinar provided the process, principles and a template for developing your own communications strategy within a CLC setting.
