📢 Deerfield Beach Residents – Here’s What’s Going On with the BSO Contract

You’ve probably seen the headlines and social media posts about the City’s contract dispute with the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO). We know there’s a lot of information out there, so here are the facts:
🔹 BSO has asked the City for a 10% contract increase for Fiscal Year 2026.

🔹 After review, the City determined this increase would place too heavy a burden on taxpayers.

🔹 In response, BSO notified the City that law enforcement services would end September 30, 2025, unless we agree to the increase.

🔹 Public safety will always remain our top priority, and the City is exploring every option to ensure residents continue receiving the highest levels of police, fire, and emergency services.
