Hanoi Train Street is a narrow residential alley in the Old Quarter where a real train passes just centimeters from houses, cafés, and people. It is one of the most unique and famous spots in Hanoi.
When there is no train, the tracks look like a normal walkway — people sit, drink coffee, take photos.
When the train comes, everyone must move to the sides because the locomotive passes extremely close.
📍 Where Is It?
The most popular section is near:
Phùng Hưng Street
Close to Old Quarter and Hoàn Kiếm Lake
Another section is at Lê Duẩn Street, more local and less crowded.
🌟 Why It’s Famous
Trains pass unbelievably close to homes
Photogenic “Instagram” spot
A mix of local life + dramatic train moment
Cafés along the tracks give safe viewing seats
A unique experience not seen in most cities
🚆 Train Times
Trains usually run several times daily.
Café owners display the schedule — visitors come early, buy a drink, and wait.
