Bon Jovi - Always - Instrumental Electric Guitar Cover - By Paul Hurley

Bon Jovi, from me being 13 years old have been a band that's music has always been there for me in one way or another. The band and music mean a lot to me, so I thought would note down a bit of my Bon Jovi story for anyone who cares below ;-)

I was aware of Bon Jovi as a kid but became more of a fan after getting the best of Crossroad cd around Christmas 1994 and then the next year when I was 14 I got to see them at Wembley!
Bon Jovi @ Wembley Stadium, Friday 23rd June 1995 (1st of 3 nights playing Wembley), was my first time of many seeing Bon Jovi live and probably looking back my number one BJ gig!
This Bon Jovi set alone must have been close to 2.5 hours! Livin' On A Prayer, Wild In The streets, Hey God, Dry County, Good Guys Don't Always Wear White, Always, all in the set on this night! Amazing show on a hot, summer day and this was my 4th live gig I had seen at the time, but it was the first in a venue like Wembley and around 70,000 people!
The line up on 23rd June 95 gig was in one word amazing! Ugly Kid Joe, Thunder, Van Halen, Bon Jovi! I already knew Thunder and seen them just a month ago on the Behind Closed Doors tour and I was in the fan club; Thunder channel! :) They did meet and greets with fan club members after most gigs and I got a phone call a few days before this gig from the fan club and I got to meet them backstage at Wembley on that afternoon!
Ugly Kid Joe: I think I had just got the new song at the time 'Milkmans Son' if I remember, which had come out as I wanted to check them out before the gig. Van Halen I knew some and then got the great Balance album not long after this.
To put the show lineup with other Jovi shows I saw, at the Bon Jov Crush tour in 2000 Wembley show I attended (they were the last band to play in the old Wembley at this show) it was Toploader as support, 'Dancin in the moonlight' was a big song at the time for them and they were an ok band, but a lot different to the 95 lineup ;-)
This gig was a special one and Bon Jovi I feel were at a great place as a band at this time, with the album they had out and how they were as a live band.

The bonus then the same weekend was then getting the whole Sunday (June 25th) Bon Jovi gig coming in live from Wembley on BBC Radio 1 and me recording it on tape :-) They also got to number 1 that night in the charts with These Days, taking Michael Jackson at the time off number 1! I had got that album that week and the single, 'This aint a love song' a few weeks before from our Virgin music store! The 25th June Wembley gig was then also released on VHS (video tape for any kids reading!) just before Christmas 1995 and I watched it a lot (most nights for a while!) no youtube then! I didn't even know it was coming out and saw it in HMV one day! Richie Sambora and Jon Bon Jovi were like God's to me at that time and the teenage years following :-) Wembley did have a big effect on me and the These days album! Most if not all of the kids at school were into Oasis and Blur at this point, I wasn't at all lol ;)

Just to finish my 2nd favourite Bon Jovi gig: Milton Keynes UK 1996! I was 15 and got a coach package and BJ ticket deal to get there and back, bought from the great poster/ticket shop in town! Over the next years, I got into loads of bands/music, rock, metal, all which I loved and went to live gigs and supported, but Bon Jovi still stayed there with me even when I was in the more metal Pantera/Megadeth hardcore years ;) Maybe just as a good friend would stick with ya through different things :)
I play these Bon Jovi songs as a fan of many years and really hope that comes through in these covers.
