Sometimes, you're communicating with the factory in China and everything is going well. The person has an excellent grasp of the English language, emails were being returned and you're happy with the process. And then, all of a sudden, you realized that there's a breakdown in the communication process and now you've got problems. A good example of why this may occur is that sometimes, yes does not mean yes, the way we understand it.

Let's say you have communicated with the factory that you want a certain type of thread for your cut and so product. Or you need a battery life of a certain duration. Or a certain type of steel. The person on the other end says yes and you think great let's move along and that's been confirmed. But in reality, why they might mean is "Yes, I understand that you want that" or "Yes, I would want to put that in your project profile" but it doesn't necessarily mean that "Yes, that's going to work" or "Yes, that something that we can do". That's why further detail communication is required and confirmation all along the way. So that down the line, you don't end up with a product that looks like nothing like what you have been asking for.

Best case scenario, you or someone in your behalf can communicate with the factory in Chinese. If that's not possible for your project, we suggest is that when you communicate with the factory, you request in depth answers in more detail rather than just a yes or no response from the factory. Have them elaborate on their understanding so that you can make sure you are all on the same page.
