I'm not gonna lie. This video is a full hour, and it only covers half of the first step. We are really getting into the "meat of the problem" here.
"We admitted that we were powerless over the effects of alcoholism or other family dysfunction, that our lives had become unmanageable."
If you are serious about recovery, you may have to work on this step in chunks, so pause, write things down, and stop to rest. Pick up where you left off and continue through it. This is the foundation of all of the steps to come. Describing the dysfuntion and how this manifested in your life is a large task, and Part A here--when you have completed it--is a long way towards recovery. Part B, the next video, will be a shorter presentation, but on your own behalf, do the journaling and the "praying" about it. Be kind to yourself--and OTHERS--because a boatload of emotional work is in the details here.
