Working on sculpting my first BJD head

After several years of poking at this project here and there, I felt like it was time to start sharing info about it in videos now and then or I'd never get around to talking about what I was doing. It's a bit of a rambly update since I have a lot of thoughts on this matter. :) I think I've shared one or two peeks at this faceplate in other videos, but I haven't devoted anything specifically to it or shared how I've been going about the process of making my first doll head.

It's been a huge challenge, and tests my skills in a variety of areas. I'm learning a lot about 3D modeling and physical sculpting, but I feel like he's still a long way off from being finished. Ideally, I WANT to cast this faceplate this summer so I can start refining my casting methods and learn to use colorants in resin well, but that may still be a long way off.

On the other hand, it gives me plenty to work on until I can sell those doll bodies and get a new body ordered for Rhyllyn! :)
