In a recent interview, BJP leader K. Annamalai addressed speculation about his political future, stating, 'Whatever comes in TV doesn't happen. So that is the good thing about BJP.' He indicated that the party has not yet defined a full-time role for him and that he is currently enjoying a 'breather' to focus on organic farming in Coimbatore. Annamalai expressed his willingness to contest in the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections if the party believes it will make a difference. Regarding the upcoming polls, he emphasised the importance of a strong alliance with the ADMK, stating they should have 'enough number of seats' while the BJP should have a 'respectable number'. He suggested that the alliance should aim to peak its momentum in February or March, closer to the election.
