How to do a Manual ID Run on ABB ACS380 AC Drive | Galco

On the ABB ACS380, you have the option to operate an identification run manually. The drive performs this procedure to automatically estimate the characteristics of your motor using standstill ID run when the drive is started for the first time, or after any motor parameter in group 99 is changed.

In most applications, there is no need to perform a separate ID run, but you should do one when under demanding motor control connections, such as when a permanent magnet motor is used, the drive operates near zero speed references, or operation at torque range above the motor nominal torque over a wide speed range is needed.
