Stop the Cavalry, written and recorded by Jona Lewie. Originally released as a single in November 1980 the song reached No.3 on the UK chart.

Played here on a Gibson Les Paul Studio 70s Tribute guitar and Yamaha PSS F30 keyboard. With a backing track programmed with "Chordpulse" and of course a jingle of sleigh bells.

One of the things I love about the build up to Christmas here in the UK is listening to the Salvation Army Brass Band when they get out in the shopping centres and play some Christmas Carols. Every year I like to try to create the sound of a brass band with my little Yamaha keyboard. This year I've chosen Jona Lewie's Christmas hit from 1980. Even though it's not something that you'd hear played by The Salvation Army band, over the last 40 odd years the brass band section in "Stop the Cavalry" has become iconic and just oozes festive spirit. I had a lovely time making this recording. I hope you enjoy this cover of Jona Lewie's classic Christmas hit.
