Why I Love My Commute : A New Zealand Backroads Ride

Join me on what I think might be one of New Zealand's best motorcycle commutes. Once a month, I trade the highway for the scenic backroads on my way home from work.

This ride features some iconic North Island adventure riding roads, including Mangamahu Rd and Whangaehu Valley Rd. Pukeokahu Rd offers some stunning views of Mt Ruapehu at this time of year. The journey finishes on the magnificent Matawhero and Mangaohane Roads which join on to the Gentle Annie. It's a commute that feels like a true escape and is a great way to travel home from work.
