Donuts and Bomboloni! 🍩🍫
Ingredients:
300g all-purpose flour
50g sugar
8g active dry yeast
150ml warm milk
60g unsalted butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Vegetable oil (for frying)
For the Ganache:
100g Chocolate
100g Heavy Cream
Steps:
1. In a bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, softened butter, and vanilla extract. Add the yeast mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
4. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
5. Punch down the risen dough and roll it out on a floured surface to about 1/2-inch thickness. Use a donut cutter or a round cutter to cut out donut shapes or Bomboloni as per your need.
6. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (180°C). Fry the donuts for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
7. For the ganache, simmer cream and pour over chocolate mix until all chocolate is melted and ganache is smooth. Dip each donut into the glaze, ensuring it's fully coated. Or fill it inside Bomboloni.
