In general, Medicare Supplement Plans do not cover your prescription drugs. Rather, you’ll need to purchase a separate stand alone Medicare Part D prescription drug Plan to cover your medications. There are certain NON self administered medications like injections, infusions, chemotherapy, ect. – medications that are given to you in a provider setting that may be covered by Medicare Part B and these types of medications would be covered by your Medicare Supplement Plan (Since Medicare Supplement Plans cover Part B services). But the rest of your medications, the ones you pick up at the pharmacy and take at home, these are typically covered by a different Part of Medicare, Medicare Part D – and not your Medicare Supplement Plan.
