The SAPS have deployed their Serious and Violent Crime Investigations Unit and the Crime Detection Tracing Unit to investigate the mass shooting in which nine people were killed and 10 others wounded in Bekkersdal, west of Johannesburg.
The attack happened just before one o'clock on Sunday morning at the KwaNoxolo tavern.
Police say the motive for the attack is still unknown. They are appealing to anyone with information to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or submit tip-offs via the MySAPS WhatsApp.
