Angie Aparo: Live at the Roxy, Atlanta, GA, 12/13/2002

In 2002, I was brought in by a friend to film a concert for a special one-off presentation. This was done on a consumer level mini-DV camera, using its onboard mics, on a tripod I got at Wal*Mart for $20. Just to set expectation.

In 2025, I got permission to release it on YouTube, and set to work cleaning up glitchy early 2000s digital video tape using algorithmic production tools, but no smeary or hallucinatory AI "approximations."

I've done my best to mix the original audio optimally, and upscale/denoise the video as much as possible without compromising the original detail in the footage. That means there's some very rough overexposure that can't really be fixed, and the same with some audio peaking, but they're an authentic part of the experience.

This is about as close as this original footage can ever get to the experience of being there, and as a fan of Angie's music, I think it was such an amazing concert that it's worth making that experience available to everyone.
